The Wavorly guys have been great friends of mine for a long time. They are all super cool guys who happen to make super cool music. Really. I’ve toured with a lot of bands and made friends with a ton of musicians. Supporting my friend’s music however doesn’t necessarily mean that I really enjoy it all that much. But I can truthfully say about these guys that I would still be listening to and thoroughly enjoying their records if they were strangers to me.

They recently came through the Atlanta area on tour with some other friends of mine (The Wedding). One of the stops was Swayze’s in Kennesaw GA. While I will say nothing about the venue (coughcoughBOOOOcoughcough) Wavorly put on a great show as usual. And of course, I carried my camera and a SB600 flash with me. Here’s what I snapped. Mills Family

Allen contacted me recently and informed me that he was putting together a special surprise event for his wife’s birthday. One of the main things she had said she wanted was, like any loving mom, family pictures. Allen, being the super husband he is, arranged everyone’s schedule and contacted me to snap the shutter button. The shoot was very laid back and all the shots really convey the family’s light hearted and fun spirit(s). We also just happened to have a high school senior in our presence.. so we knocked out a few portraits for him too while we were at it.

Amanda Bantug – Promo Shoot

Amanda and I go way back. So much so that doing this photo shoot made me feel like an old man. I met Amanda when she was round 6 or 7 years old I believe. She came to one of our concerts (High Flight Society) and became one of our biggest fans. I remember all of us thinking it was so awesome that such a cute little bitty asian girl liked our music so much. From that day on she was referred to as “little asian Amanda.” Not too long ago I was talking to one of the other band members and was like, “Hey! Have you seen little asian Amanda lately? She is NOT little anymore! What in the world happened?” From concert to concert we literally watched her grow up and now she’s ALL grown up.. and to honest with you.. it’s pretty weird.

Amanda is now venturing into a music career of her own. She has some recordings, a video, and is booking shows. Maybe one day we can join forces and ol High Flight could actually be her band at a couple shows. Wouldn’t that be a craaazy turn of events?! Sounds like a good idea to me. Anyways, go check her stuff out as soon as you take a peak at these supa cool promo shots we got of her.

Red Letter Agent / The Kicks – Live

Myself, my wonderful wife, my sister-in-law, and my good buddy Scotty all went to see Red Letter Agent and The Kicks play at Smith’s Olde Bar a few nights ago. Both band’s were superb. If you missed it, you should be jealous of all who were there! I’m not gonna go on and on about it, but here’s a few shots I snagged while I was there. Redemption Song

Redemption Song is a Southern Gospel group made up of Trent Adams (my brother-in-law), Jessica Adams (my sister), Tony Jones, Sharon Morgan, and Jud Hurst. We met in Cedartown GA (my hometown) and ended up at three different locations. We decided to go all artificial light so all these shots were down with an Alien Bee 800 and various modifiers.

Also, you may notice that I switched up my watermark yet again. It is now more of a “stamp” style that I try to blend into the shot a little more. Watermarks are distracting to me so I’m trying to make mine a little more subtle.

Meagan & Ryan – Wedding – Rome, GA

By now you should be well acquainted with Meagan and Ryan. My last blog entry was Meagan’s bridal shoot and just a few posts ago was her and Ryan’s engagement highlights. And now.. they’re back! This time for the big shabang! Yup, they are officially The Murphy Family. We had a blast shooting their wedding. They are one of the easiest couples to work with ever and are very trusting in my abilities. Having a couple let you do whatever you want cuz “you’re the photographer” is always awesome! I won’t ramble on too much about this one.. I’ll just get straight to the meat of this thang. Here’s you some nice, juicy, prime cut highlights for you to chew on.

Gotta throw some props at my wife on these ring shots! I typically don’t post this many detail shots of rings in highlights.. but Chelsey rocked these… and I’m proud dad gum it!

I didn’t really plan to do any flash portraits cuz the light was so awesome during portrait time. Buuuut, one reason the light was so great was cuz of the crazy cloud cover.. crazy cool lookin cloud cover. So I couldn’t resist flashin ‘em for a couple of shots at least.

Next thing you know he’ll be texting daddy for girl pointers.

Most women cry. Most men however… make this scrunchy “fightin it” face.

It aint a wedding reception without YMCA
